Spiders and scorpions, like insects, are a group of arthropods. However, unlike insects, they are wingless and have four pairs of legs. Spiders in the Nature Reserve come in all sizes, striped and plain, dull and vivid. Spider bites are rare, and by the way and even the biggest specimens will merely hurt a lot, since they are all poisonous but will not kill.
The commonest large spider is the black and yellow
Nephilia maculata.

The Wood Scorpion is far more common than the Large Scorpion, which is 15 cm long, and green-black coloured. The Wood Scorpion is black and slightly flattened to creep into narrow crevices.
